how i set deposit limits and why it actually helped

Posting this in case it's useful to someone.
A few months back I noticed I was topping up two, three times in a session without really clocking it. Not disaster territory but the maths wasn't adding up by the end of the month.
So I set a weekly deposit limit. Most UKGC sites let you do it in the account tools, usually a daily, weekly and monthly cap. I went weekly because a daily one felt too fiddly and a monthly one was too loose for me.
The bit that matters. When you lower a limit it takes effect more or less straight away, but when you want to raise it there's a cooling-off, often 24 hours, before it kicks in. That gap is the whole point. Kills the heat-of-the-moment top up.
Honestly the limit did more for me than any amount of willpower. Anyone else use them, and weekly or monthly?
